Teen Summer Reading '09!

Teen Summer Reading ’09: Express Yourself @ Your Library!

How do you express yourself? With music? With art? With theatre? With technology? However you like to get your feelings across, you can do it this summer at the Twin Falls Public Library’s Teen Summer Reading Program!

Here’s our schedule so far:

June 10: Rock and Roll Murder Mystery
Use your detective skills to follow clues across the library and solve the mystery before the other groups.

June 15-20: Create an Avatar Contest
What would you look like online? Make an avatar and find out! When you’re done, add it to your MySpace or Facebook page!

June 24: Open Mic Night
You can read your favorite poem, sing a song, play the guitar, or do your standup comedy routine—just express yourself!

June 29-July 4: Famous First Lines Contest
Match up famous first lines to the books they come from.

July 8: Melted Crayon Art
You’d be surprised at the amazing art you can make with melted crayons! Come make a bookmark, key chain or a card.

July 13-18: Make Your Own Masterpiece Contest
Make your own version of a classic painting like the Mona Lisa or Starry Night.

July 22: ArtsMania Workshops
Come for an afternoon of 4 different workshops— writing, theatre, dance and art— all under one roof.

July 29: Guitar Hero World Tour Tournament
Check out the library’s new Wii and battle it out on the guitar, drums and mic.
