Teen Summer Reading 2010

The 2010 Teen Summer Reading Program at the Twin Falls Public Library is almost here! Anyone in grades 6-12 can participate in the program, and this year the theme is “Make Waves @ Your Library.” We’ve got lots of great water-themed events planned! Here’s what’s on the schedule:

June 10 @ 3 p.m.: Water Olympics

Don’t forget your swimsuit and towel! We’re kicking off summer reading with some awesome water games like Capture the Flag and Beach Towel Volleyball. If the weather is bad, we’ll be doing a scavenger hunt inside.

June 17 @ 3 p.m.: Tie-dye Extravaganza

Bring something colored, clean, and cotton to dye. Let the creative juices flow and use bleach pens to create some awesome designs.

June 24 @ 3 p.m.: Vampire Party

Vampires are everywhere— books, music, TV shows, and movies. Come talk about your favorite vamps while you play games, make crafts and eat vampire cupcakes.

July 1 @ 3 p.m.: Just Add Water: Foods and Drinks

You’d be surprised what you can make by just adding water to something! We’ll make cakes, drinks, and slime!

July 8 @ 3 p.m.: A Day at the Beach Party

Idaho doesn’t really have any beaches, so we’re bringing the beach to Idaho! We’ll make duct tape flip flops, sand art, hydro bracelets, and leis and watch a beachy movie.

July 15 @ 3 p.m.: Treasure Hunt

Channel your inner pirate! Follow a Treasure Map to some hidden pirate treasure and win some great prizes!

July 22 @ 3 p.m.: 60 Second Games: Water Edition

Play games like Bucket Head, Elephant March, and Go the Distance, all from the TV show Minute to Win It.

July 30 from 7p.m.-11 p.m.: Teen After Hours Party

Let’s end the Summer Reading Program with a bang! We’ll have the library all to ourselves for games, food, and prizes. You must complete one of the Summer Reading Treasure Maps and turn in a permission slip to come.

If you have any questions, please feel to email me at elittlefield@twinfallspubliclibrary.org or call me at 733-2964 ext. 110.

Thanks, and I look forward to seeing you this summer!
